~~^~~
Standing amongst this forest in bloom,
Feeling alone and full of gloom.
I see you blossoming every day,
I look at you and see you sway.
I watch you flaunt your fertility,
I hear you laugh at my futility.
You drop your fruits all around my root,
Making me painfully aware of the truth.
All my leaves have fallen by the wayside,
My only fruit has withered and died.
I'm now a dry branch reaching out......
Empty, barren, flowerless and without.
Forgive me if I make no joyful sound
Whenever reaping time comes around.
It's a constant reminder of my lack of success,
Knowing I;ll never be like all the rest.

Beautifuly touching and most
revealing, but you are better
than the rest cause you are
who you are, and all else can
only be imitations, a lovely
write as always by one so
capable . . .
Thank you Jenn also
for your read and comment . . .

Great write Jenni, and you have inspired me to answer
this with a new one of my own. Look for it. I think
I will title it "Withered Life!"
Blessings,

You know this poem refreshed my memory of your talent. You've always had it and you change up your topics often- keeping me surprised.
But this one, it was filled with powerful metaphors, beautiful, sad, great imagery and I thought that even if you were a tree you would be definitive in your elegance.
