I Will Stand True to Myself

Contributed by eternalsunshine on Tuesday, 21st October 2008 @ 06:23:26 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Our friendship began so innocent
like a new born child unknown of this world
we haven't known each other that well
not to mention the brief time we spent,

I never asked a favor
nor to be your friend
just an honest person
and some wonderful moments to share,

I enjoyed my time together
and the summer that i will remember
but you never appreciated it
because you wanted more than you can ask,

I was your favorite of all else
putting me on high end
you never could get my kiss
so i turned into your enemy,

You tricked me in to you world
forcing me to be your friend
but you never mentioned
that you wanted me as your pet,

You played with my feelings
which hurt me so well
when i told you honestly
we will be just friends,

You pushed me to the edge
stalked me out of my head
because your so selfish
i had to suffer it well,

Besides the hurtful times
and the masquerade of life events
i will no longer be an actress
and be hurt by my friends,

I will stand strong
and wont be led down
because deep inside
i will stand true to myself,

I used to be a puppet, stranded on a leash
though i will flow through it fast
but for now ill change roles
and be a director of my life & it's events,

I will leave your actions behind
knowing it's mare life's illusion
besides all that
i will still love you my friend

This is so sad and I am sorry you had to endure this....but we all know what a special person you are..and your last line proves this...
Hugs

Jenni took the words right out of my thoughts.
The last line says it all.
Now who ever your writing about should cherish your friendship or what ever you have to offer them.
Good work.
huggs, smiles, blessings,
emy

I agree with the above comments. I applaud you for sticking to your morals. I have seen so many do the opposite. I loved the poem as well, by the way.
smiles
Kara
