The color of me.

Contributed by Recyclebin on Saturday, 18th October 2008 @ 11:13:22 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The other night I read a poem from a poet
who spoke of colors of the soul.
Well that poem spoke so loudy
I realized right then... mine is the color of coal.
People see the love I write,
but what they dont see.. is how I feel.
I'm a man who is dying inside,
who has nothing but dreams and nothing to reveal.
The color so empty, and so hollow.
Sometimes so hard to breath,
but most of all its so hard to swallow.
In this life, all I ever wanted,
was just one more chance.
A chance to prove the little things,
do matter in lifes stance.
I've been dreaming of love
dreaming to once again live.
Just searching for the strength to endure,
just one more day to survive.
I watch the sunrise everyday,
Just to watch sink into the night.
I sense the cold it brings,
The core so raw, emotions bleed, and I begin to write.
I imagine as I begin to write,
once again I can feel the love.
That I’m whole, filled
With everything I speak of.
I believe in second chances
A chance to do another dance.
To dance the dream,
So I can re-experience the scheme,
Out there somewhere, an angel
Awaits to save me.
To once again fill me with color,
Showing me to believe,
Believing in my dreams
Lifting me, from my knee
…..so once again I can see.

As i read, i was compelled by both sadness and hope, and that's something i'm personally used to. it's good to write out ur mind, heart, and soul.
"mine is the color of coal." caught me off guard, but u describe urself in such beautiful colors. i think the coal is only ur minor shade, we all have it. and when u get that 'chance' u desire, take it. take care

You are definitely totally in this work. But do you realize how beyond that you have managed to go? I can feel your soul-searching struggle within yourself. Your sadness and loneliness. You have drawn all this well. Look past that into your beliefs. Watching the "sunrise everyday just to watch it sink." Reminds me of the idea of "living just to live." You talk about second chances. Dreams. Love. In all your desperation, you offer the all these themes of wisdom and hope. If I was trying to paint your soul on a canvas, it may contain some coal smears to signify your scars of pain. But you have so much more depth than that.
Thank you
love smiles blessings

You have captured a true poets heart and soul with this write. You will dance the dream and find love.
I see love on the canvas that is inside your soul, though hurt there is an ember there.
You are color in every sense of the word.

This write stunned me to the depth of my being. Incredible work my friend.

Huggers
and the dream witchy just sent you some dreams!

Michelle
