Star-filled Sky

Contributed by Catalina on Friday, 17th October 2008 @ 10:04:16 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Look up at an endless star-filled sky,
Asking the simple question of why...

Why didn't I show her,
When she was here...
Why didn't I hold her,
As her eyes filled with tears?

Tangled and twisted,
With in the trials of everyday life...
Continously ignoring the pain,
The pain I didn't want to see in her eyes...

I could have changed it,
If only I would have known...
Longing for me so deeply,
For only a bit of my love to be shown...

Endless nights alone she cried,
Once in awhile I would wake to her sighs...
Sighs of desperation,
As she gazed into a star-filled sky...

Night after lonely night,
She could only ask herself why?
Why does love fade away,
Why did his love for me die?

If only I would have stopped,
Stopped only for a moment to see...
My love, my wife,
Oh how she deperately needed me...

Maybe she would be here,
Looking into the star-filled night...
If only I would have told her,
She was the one who made my world so bright...

That was a sledgehammer to the chest...
"if" the middle word in "life"
I wonder "if" every moment and perhaps one day, I will haunt her as she has haunted me...
Thank You for sharing this Cat....
It was beautiful and solemn..
Steve
