I remember the first time...
I could taste the deception on your lips as I kissed them
I was just too deep in love to hold myself back
I followed my heart because for me there is no other way
Now here I am, paying the tragic price for it all today
Holding my broken heart in my hand
And strangely enough still in love with you
Loving you always came so easy to me
I'll never forget the day you left
It was the day I became the person I never wanted to be
Scarred and afflicted in so many different ways
I've felt myself slowly spiraling away into my darkest days
I never considered myself weak or vulnerable until I met you
But I broke down the walls just to let you through
Now I'm standing amidst the outcome
The shrapnel of my own broken heart piercing through my skin
As I poison myself senseless everyday just to numb the pain
Somehow...it still hurts just as bad as it did the moment it happend
Amazingly I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat
I may die a brand new death each day that passes without you
But the times I did share with you were my most defining moments of being alive
I embraced the rawest form of love and felt the deepest form of hurt
No one in the world but you could ever make me feel like this
I found both the meaning of life and death...
All in that first kiss.
