LoveRemembered
|
I wasted my time, for the better part of a year
trying to impress you.
Everything was all so easy, the days we first met.
When you'd wait, hours in the rain for my return.
The days I knew you loved me.
When nothing was taken for granted, when I loved you.
You couldn't wait, to show me off to your friends,
that soon faded.
When you'd rather hide me away, for fear of embarrassment.
Sure, you buy me gifts, but only to relieve some of your guilt
For kissing her, when I was but a few feet away from you.
You might blame it on me,
But you insisted that we fall.
I tried everything to please you,
But all you did was make me cry.
Now you've wiped your hands of me,
For no valid reason at all.
Not even an apology from you,
After all we've been through.
Just goes to show, just how little
I really meant to you.
As you continue to shove your new love in my face.
HOw long will it last?
Before you play the martyr again,
And cast her aside like some broken toy.
