As the storm around us pumped and raged,
You slowly, silently came of age,
Pushed against that padded quilt,
The red droplets like cherries mirrored my guilt.
Sweet girl,
Sweet baby,
My baby cakes,
Welcome to this
Your dark night
After this glorious day.
