Mysterious Ways

The curtains are closing.
I feel I'm slipping away from you.
I've tried so hard to keep you happy,
But nothing seems to satisfy.
You were the one who said goodbye,
But I felt the end long before you did.

I can't sleep, but still
Every second I close my eyes
there you are, haunting me.
Your smell still lingers on my skin.

Everyday I wished for better from you,
But I never wanted you to leave.
How I wished I could have you back,
the boy I met on that very first day.
Not the "man" you think you are.

I can't stop you falling away from me,
you won't accept my hand.
the colder you become, the more I want to melt your heart.
Little do I know you're about to shatter my already broken heart,
By loving her, when you promised me it's not the end.

Obviously
It is.

you penned this peice very well...so much emotion and heart in it...thank you for sharing it with us. i know that the first love is so hard to let go of. may your heart find brighter days soon
