Back To The Start

Topic: SadPoetry

Last night i had a dream.
We were walking backwards.
Back to the start.
I woke up when you pushed me forwards.
Away from you.
Looking at me with your pale face and brown hair.
Glowing in the winters sun.
A touch of cold in the air to add to the scene.
As my breath airs up the sky rising towards the clouds.
Joining up with the shapes around us.

You walked around me as i stood their fixed to the floor.
I could feel your breath on my neck.
Frostier then the ice on the ground.
It felt so real to me.
Carelessly rushing your hair through my hair.
Skipping off down the wooded path and turning giving me a smile.
As the floor begins to melt and the sun rises.
I awake for real this time.

My cries are not falling on death ears.
Or so i think, but it's not happening.
We're all we've got.
So we'll walk this walk down a path thats not familiar.
You'd think it was halloween these dreams haunt me like a nightmare.
These feelings have stopped flowing in my blood.

Cold wind runs through the room and greets me as i sit up in my bed.
Blowing the curtains off the railings.
Reminding me im in bed alone once again.
While your singing in your sleep in another place.
Singing songs of a better time.
When love was just an emotion and sorry was just word.
The alienation that comes with said problems leaves me in the room alone.
A glance in the mirror to my side shows im nothing but an empty shell.
Sat in this house by myself , telling me im not dead just yet.
As your not mine anymore...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
