Down Memory Lane

Familiar sounds and sights
All brought back sweet memories
As though I never did leave this place
The memory so vivid
That it felt like just yesterday
Remembering the queue
Behind the adults
Feeling myself so tiny and small
Memory of the tattoos shows
My child like mind
Trying to register every flow of the lines
That seems to come alive with every move
I walked again on familiar soil
Reliving happy memories
With each of my steps
I find myself going back in time
Looking out for the familiar smile and warmth
I still believe the place gives to me

Such a sweet write. I love those thoughts and going back even for a moment.
