I chew bones in the graveyard light
The villagers tell me what I do is not right
They come with crosses and torches and guns
but ghouls just want to have fun
O' ghouls just wanna have fun
A Jill-Ka -Bob , a rack of Ted
The preacher yells you should'nt make a stew from the dead.
If we ever catch him we'll have filet mignon
'cause ghouls just want to have fun

that's all we really want
Some fun
When the gravedigger is drunk
O' ghouls--we wanna have fun
O' ghouls just wanna have fun
Sometimes I take a beautiful ghoul
wine her and dine her on some underworld gruel
then we throw rocks at the priests and the nuns
'cause ghouls just want to have fun

Some fun
When the gravedigger is snorin'

Well this was certainly different and unexpected.
Im a Cyndi Lauper fan, except for that particular song which I always found annoying.
I like the new words, I might even tolerate it now !!

Weird Al Yankovic will be devastated! He did a great turn on this song but yours is a fresh update for the season.
an excellent parody, well written and surely enough to raise the dead to party through halloween.

Thanks for the laugh! Very creative! Kudos to you on that one! This is my favorite Holiday really because the prankster comes out of everyone! They all act like littel kids for a while and its fun to watch!

You know from the first line on I have Cyndi Lauper's voice singing this in my head and it's great.
This was hillarious! Some of the lines were completely unexpected and perfectly executed. I agree Weird Al would be extremely jealous. I've had this song in my head "your song" since I read it last night. Thanks for sharing this was a great laugh and perfect for the season.

doug, I read this last night to my boyfriend and he almost had a heart attack
from the fit of laughter it created! WELL DONE poet!!
(We can't stop singing it now! Weird Al better watch out. He's about to
be replaced!! )
Excellent post. Perfect with Hallowe'en coming up and just perfect to
add a lightness to the travesties of life. Thank you doug. ;)
