Holiday Poetry
|
from deep within the ancient cave
above which leaves' sweet rot invite
sighs putrid breath of new decay
left there by druids' sacred rite
The second moon from harvest eve
brings with it secrets locked in time
of mothers' hearts, their souls bereaved
of sacrifices tombed in lime
To drive from earthly realm decreed
it was before the Shakers might
Those sacrifices serve to feed
the hungry holes on Hallows night.
