Wish Like This

Contributed by lostinmyself on Sunday, 28th September 2008 @ 09:41:56 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

It takes all I am to dream today,
to hope, to fight, to pray,
that tomorrow will not end,
just like this.

There is no honesty here,
and these wishes only hide desires,
the things I'm too afraid to say
it's worse now, it's so hard to pray,
just in case God really sees,
the mess I've made of life,
of me.
The mess I've made of everything.

I had all these hopes, and all these plans,
but strength is lost, and I'm not strong,
and here I am, without you now,
begging my heart to be still.

because I'm wishing on a thousand stars,
and every single word's a lie,
and the real wishes I would make,
are up there lost within the sky.

And there is no honesty here,
no courage, I can not be brave,
I cannot tell the sky my dreams,
'cause God is there; I'm so ashamed,
of all the things I could have been,
and all the good I pushed away.

so it's taking all I am to breathe
to hope, to pray, to hold on for another day,
and I'm wishing on the stars tonight,
(for once the words are not all lies)
that somehow I can still survive,

and tomorrow will not be just like this.

There is always honesty and there is always hope, kindred sister. You'll find it...you showed us where it is, right here. Brilliant.

Love,
dawn

Sweetie, I am deliciously excited to see a new post from you! It pains me to witness your struggle, but I
understand your torment, hun. I have read this over several times and each time it strikes my heart in a
different way. I agree with Jarred in that it has a radiance whose brilliance requires shades in order to
look directly into it! Life challenges us at the best of times, but when we are feeling worn and exhausted
the challenge becomes a pain that will not leave us, weighing us down with an iron fisted torture. It pulls
our hearts in a hundred directions until we no longer can bear the strain. Lucky you to find an outlet with
which to vent the anguish; the pain; the struggle; the free flying thoughts that refuse to be caged.

I miss your writings hun. More than most others. They are so raw and beautifully you.

*hugs you tightly tons*

(birthday coming up, and then off to America! :D Isn't this the most wonderful time of year?
Incredible things are about to happen! *hugs hugs hugs*)

From the opening stanza you had me. Oh, do I know that feeling and that emotion. It is a wonderful wreck of a thought. Your wording drew me in and held me. The way you express both hope and disatisfaction is compelling. A masterful flow and excellent piece of writing.

As long as we live today and are willing to fight in order to better tomorrow the days do get increasingly more easy to handle and then sometimes without warning we actually have those good days and the more of those we find the more reason we have to keep fighting.

This was a magnificent write and a well structured work of art.

Brilliant!

If ever there was someone who has strength, it's you.
Oh not the strength that you write of, the strength that you don't, the one that I see between the lines, the one that always shines when someone else needs strength, needs you.
You are so much stronger than you know. I wish you felt it ...and I wish you could see your talent through my eyes.

You've got writer's block? It's not so very obvious with this poem. It flows so freely....I mean it is exceptional in my opinion.

And the subject matter. I so relate to what you have written here and you drew me in like hook, line, & sinker. The feel of this is so me too. Wow.

So beautifully written I am very impressed.

How do we measure success? I am not a philosopher and I do not have all the answers but Phyllis, your success is that you touch all our lives with your caring and love. You touch us all with your talent. These things has to count for something.

*incredibly huge hug*

Tim

Wow... Phil, this was perfect... Its message was clear, honest, so deeply honest, yet it didn't stop there. It flowed so well, not a word seemed out of place. I'm impressed, and... envious, wishing your words mine.
Take care,
David

Well, what can I add that hasn't already been said?.....I can sense the desperation in this brilliant work.
Best wishes and I hope you manage to get through your problems.
