Beneath the Roses

In the garden
Beneath the roses
In the snow
pearly white,
A small indication
Of another's presence
sits alone,
out of sight.
Around the thorns
he must have crawled,
On the leaves
he lay his head.
With delicate movements,
and a careful eye,
He painted the roses
Red.
The rooster crows,
dawn awakes.
They see the roses,
Miss the hint
The only indication
of last nights guest
Lies beneath the roses,
A tiny foot print.

Warm wishes and a hearty welcome!
Wow, this is amazing. That last line is brilliant and sends all sortsa
thoughts scurrying about in one's mind. It sets the imagination free!
There is a lovely inspiration in this that I want to grab with both
hands, hold on tight and never let it go! Beautifully done!!

I love what imagery you have woven into this stunning work of art. I also like how you give mention to the work that inspired such a write. This is powerful, imaginative, and beautiful. A fine coveyance of a gift and a knack for poetry and flow. Beneath The Roses, lies something that should excite and romance the reader. And to me, it does this completely.
SUPERB!
