stereotype from all around

Contributed by Voice of the Silent on Friday, 26th September 2008 @ 08:09:13 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Far means fire were i'm from if you didn't know but i wrote this because the boss at the job i applied for is from up north and is reluctant to hire southerners but he's not the only one many peole say I'm an idiot just by looking at me

The stereotypes from all around
Make it to where a mans career can't even leave the ground
Yes I'm redneck, hillbilly, and a hick
But I'm a smart one
When people see me like at a job interview
they don't see a man in shirt in tie
they see it through their eyes
I'm nothing but a redneck
spending my nights at a bar
and can't even talk
can't even start a "far"
so let me restart
you may not think I'm that smart
But I'm a redneck means I can be mean as hell
and heres my story to tell
knowledge is power
Redneck or not I've got it

I know what you mean. I'm a southern gal. They think we are dumb cause we talk slower. I recently moved and the people here are more "country" than those of my home state. Yet they want to make fun of my Alabama roots. At least my home town knew how to be polite! okay, getting off my soapbox. sorry. thanks for sharing this.
