Remember when I used to say you were my everything
&& it was all so real.
That every moment spent together was perfect.
We said we would never fall apart

Remember when you told me you wanted us to last forever
That I was the only one for you,
Who could make your dreams come true.

Back then you were all I wanted, all I needed.
To be safe in your arms, each and every night
For you to be holding me tight & your hand in mine.
You promised you would never let me go.

But now all I remember are the words you spoke
When you told me “it’s over”.
My heart was left in two.
After trying to fix all the pieces
I came to realize I’m over you not because I can be but
Because you’re no longer my everything
