Don’t pull the sheet, up over its head
Injured quite mortally, but not yet dead
Do you think that we, should easily give in
Surrendering to failure, and its courtly sin
Though its death rattle, still razes our ears
I’ve little to relinquish, and give in to fear
The greatest strength, which someone will bear
Is when you have nothing, then you cannot despair
Torn and desiccated, this corporal display
Might still live again, to see another day
More than the surgeon’s skill, it will take
The will to live and, to live for love’s sake
We each stand on sides, which are opposite facing
To give all that we have, to not is debasing
Intrepid our manner, we can stave off death’s glance
Reviving our love, we’ll have another chance

A major expression of metaphor and poetry! This is magnificent. I love the comparison of death to a dying love and I am enticed by the imagery you've selected as well as the strength in it's final message. This is damn fine art. Splendid!
Superb!

I'm with SCM. What an incredible metaphor! Steve, your heart is immense
and nowhere does it scream for more, than in this piece. YOUR will is strong
and evident. I love how that shines through in all of your work. You know
I will be thinking about you and hoping and praying for you. :)
You have (in not only this, but most of your work) displayed a
truth and devotion that most would die for. Hold onto that. It is
damn beautiful!

Steve,
I share the same sentiments as my fellow
poetess Breezy. Your will is very strong and
evident. A beautifully expressed and written
poem. Chin up friend. I wish you the very best.
hugs & prayers,
