Three Pizzas

Contributed by Angelic_Demon on Monday, 22nd September 2008 @ 06:47:33 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Anger flushes through my veins,
as I glare at child and dogs.
One wants to ride a bike,
the others ate a whole pizza.
I close my eyes, taking a deep breath.
I hate not knowing what to do.

I ask the boy to be quiet,
Narrow my eyes at the dogs,
grabbing the pizza box.
Into the trash.
Eight bucks. Wasted.
Half of that pizza was for my boyfriend,
and the boy only got a half a piece.
Even though no one was to blame,
I hate trying to tell him it was my fault.

Mom calls, and I whine to her about it.
I felt so frustrated, so upset.
It’s now that I can relate to her trouble
she had with us; one girl and two boys,
four Mastiffs, six cats, two guinea pigs,
eight horses and a seven acre farm.
At least the kid has both his parents,
and me,
we didn’t have a father.
I hate knowing she had to raise us by herself.

She laughs at my flustered indignation,
tells me about her poetry while “Cars”
plays loudly in the background.
Tells me to hold on.
She ordered two pizzas,
even though I hated that she did it,
I don’t think I can truly express how much it meant.

It takes a caring, loving Mom like yours to solve life's problems for you...and I think she knows how much it meant....
Laughing here at the 3rd verse.... all your '"siblings" lol...
Nicely written
Jenni
