Final Goodbye

Contributed by gogrl on Wednesday, 19th March 2003 @ 02:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You have lost me now,
how does that make you feel?
Will you miss my stories,
my clumsy clatter,
my endless babbling,
will it even matter,
that I have moved on,
and let you go?
What we could have been,
we will never know,
cause you could not let me love you,
that was just to hard to do.
I never asked for anything,
I just wanted to feel you near me.
I loved you without expectations,
without question or hesitation,
and that still wasn’t good enough for you.
So this is it,
Our final goodbye,
And surprisingly… it’s alright with me.

Stirring...

Letting someone go is often a combination of what's best for you, and some element of what is best for them...

The partner's needs in this case seem to be greater than yours.. as you offered love.. but that wasn't enough (i.e., "that still wasn't good enough for you").. or was it too much? (i.e., "you could not let me love you")

Since it's alright with you.. gogrl (You.. Go Girl).. you've made the turn.. and have done what's best for you.. and in the end, that's all we really have.
