The Lily and the Rose

LoveRemembered

The window—
Dirty glass stars
Startled the sun
We made love,
Love buckled and laughed
We knew each other's faces
The lily and the rose—
The arrival of her departure,
Hushing away her tears
Thoughts intrude upon us
Leopards drink the water
Driving in the snow
I smiled,
She pressed her smile further
I found the crevasse of her hand
Three in the morning—
I sit and wait
Leopards drink the water

I can never get over how plumb graceful you can make every word. I have to say, you've written some of my favorite poetry anywhere. Thanks for sharing.
