Guilty As Charged

Contributed by catalina on Thursday, 18th September 2008 @ 04:26:19 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The day had come,
And I was a mess...
Yet i rose from my bed,
And apropriately dressed...

Holding the hand,
Of the one that i love...
Asking for help,
From that man above...

I shuffled the cards,
And dealt the out...
Carring the cloud,
of terrifing doubt...

My mother to my left,
And lover to my right...
Asking myself why,
Did i risk losing my life...

A moment of insanity,
Or so it seems...
The one who knows,
is nolonger with me...

Infront of the judge,
I gave only the facts...
Hoping for no forgiveness,
Just a second chance...

Pausing for a moment,
Then asking of me...
How were those 10 days,
You spent unfree?

I cried as I remembered,
The pain I felt inside,
Responding to the judge,
The worst in my life...

I felt the wrath,
Of impending doom...
He mutter 18 month probation,
Hope I never see you back in this room...

Calming inside,
I jumped for joy...
As I thought of my love,
and my baby boy...

I did the footwork,
But God carried me though...
Humbled by this moment,
Knowing I will pay my dues...

Excellent - You are a better person than most.
To admit, and be willing to accept the consequences.

Good Write

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
