Simple Pleasures

Contributed by NoSaint on Wednesday, 17th September 2008 @ 05:25:57 AM in AEST
Topic: happypoetry

Have you ever danced in the rain?
Holding your arms high
In the puddles splashing
Not worrying who went by

Have you ever sung with the radio?
The music going to your very soul
Forgetting worries and regrets
Notes seeming to make you whole

Have you ever blown on dandelion seeds?
Sending the white fluff through the air
Floating on the wind so free
Still as an adult do you dare?

Have you ever swung on the swings?
Of a deserted playground spot
Flying through the air so high
Joy flowing from you like a slingshot

Have you laughed by chance today?
Therapy for the body, mind and soul
Take the time to enjoy these simple pleasures
Let your inner child to the world extol

The right sentiment for adult woes. Nicely espoused.

Theat child inside of us should always get it's playtime! Too often we find ourselves having to rush around and neglecting our inner selves. I love you for this write, Shari! Thank you! Such a wonderfully fun message.
Huge hugs,
Kara

Shari, I have done ALL those things and think that I am happier
and more grounded because of it. There is nothing like a simple
pleasure to ease the stresses of the "adult" world.

Again, your pen so magically weaves the softest and most wise
advice. Beautifully done, hun!
