As You Were

Contributed by ThirtyDays on Wednesday, 19th March 2003 @ 12:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

The day you caught my eye
Like a lone star in the sky
I didn't know what it was
It was so innocent
Who would have known
It was like having heaven sent

The days we'd go for a walk
Or just sit down and talk
It took me to another place
It was just you
And I alone together
All things felt so true

On the day you said "I love you"
I was raised above the few
My life, it had meaning
It had a name
For I knew Emily
I knew I'd never be the same

The day came when I needed you
I was lost in a sea of blue
I ventured into your space
For your loving touch
And your tenderness
I realized then, I had asked too much

I feared my days were in number
I had no peace, I had no slumber
I broke the rules
That part of heaven
You had given
All was lost, the day of 11/11

I know one day you'll walk by
I hope you won’t see me, you won't say, "Hi"
You say you haven't changed
That may be true
But to me you have
And I don't want to stop loving you
