Prayer

Contributed by navydocny on Monday, 15th September 2008 @ 10:16:22 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

What God is it that you pray to each day?
Do your prayers to it, bring you any allay?
Will it be just enough to have what you want?
You have what you need, no need left to flaunt
What we need to ask, is how not to offend
How to truly love, thy neighbor and friend
To hold those around us, in proper revere
And give to our loves, adoration sincere
Whoever God is, the greatest gift given
Is the one life we live, and to leave it forgiven

Steve, this was beautifully written. Such wonderful flow and advice.
I especially loved the last line. It's too perfect.

Hopes and prayers to you -

~ Breezy

Thank you for this reminder of how we should not neglect our love of neighbour and friend!Question does it matter who God is?Do we offend him not knowing?Your poem makes one think. We all need to do that.
Thank you
Lilymae
