Perfect

Topic: oops

I’m sorry this took so long to write
I should have said this by now
So, I’ll say it tonight
Honesty, honestly, I don’t see it,

Separated by confusion, I spin freely away
Your face is an illusion,
I reach to touch
Promise me nothing
Because, you owe me too much

Days of passion
Nights were the same
Moons over the horizon

The sun becomes our guide
The ocean our mirror

Reflecting shadows to the land
The beach collects its waves
As our feet tangle in the sand

Please remember all you can
The books once read
Our song once sang
Memories crackle
Eyes sparkle
Looking for a flame
to feed your fire
I must look away

Energy rushes through my core
I can feel the blood surging in my veins
I can hear my heart beating in its cage
I see all that is around me
I can touch all I find within me
Within me,
Within us

Nothing surfaces
All things drown in pity and gilt, and anger, and stupidly, and time wasted, and time vested, with sleepless nights, and nights rested, violent dreams, and sublime skies to flee, consider me, a product of mixed minds and fallacies, contradicting philosophies, problematic idiosyncrasies, bad habits and piles of misery, somethings never change,

This began as an apology
Something I can not grasp
Nor, will I ever understand
Why such, is the will of everyman

The search of perfection
Where no godliness exists

Oh jyss! This is flawless! I would hazard to say it is the best thing
I've ever read from you. I began to read and was immediately
blown away by your words and the waves of emotion washing over
them. Jyss, this is deep; it is humble; it is beautiful! I could just cry
at these two verses in particular ..

"Please remember all you can
The books once read
Our song once sang
Memories crackle
Eyes sparkle
Looking for a flame
to feed your fire
I must look away

Energy rushes through my core
I can feel the blood surging in my veins
I can hear my heart beating in its cage
I see all that is around me
I can touch all I find within me
Within me,
Within us"

In losing someone; someone THIS close, we lose a bit of ourselves
as well. That's why the need for them to remember us; remember
things, so as not to lose ourselves entirely. We could find ourselves
obliterated, otherwise, you know?

This is outstanding poetry jyss! I adore this piece more than
I could ever express to you. A superior work!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sharing it!

~ Breezy

Perfection is more like it :)

When I think of you as a writer these are the masterpieces I think of.
This flows as smoothly as a rap, and delivers a punch of emotion like a good rap does too.
Your words line by line seem driven by an outside force that even you can't stop.

This write must've been a tremendous release for you, this is nothing short of excellence.
