Nous Défions

Contributed by navydocny on Saturday, 13th September 2008 @ 12:26:31 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

There is none on earth that doesn’t make
Thoughts of you, a moment’s take
You purloin your love, and lodge it away
To give to another, some awful day
What is my sentence, and what was the crime
I subsist in contrition, until it’s my time
To be forgiven, and hope not forgot
When I’m placed in the ground, and left there for rot
I dread the days, as I dread the nights
Your sweet memories, always become hurtful blights
How do I mend, your wound that won’t heal
You pick at its scabs, while against me you steel
Perhaps one day forward, you’ll wake to the morn
The wound will be mended, my love now forsworn
Believe as you will, and do as you’ve borne
Will lead to us both, a life disadorn

Steve, there is tremendous pain in this. I hope it helps temporarily
while you are trying to stay sane. I know what this is like. I do.
And it is not something I'd wish on anyone. I love how you can
wield the pen so elegantly to express the deepest emotions.

Your words are beautiful. All my hopes and prayers go out to you.
