Encouragement

Topic: InspirationalPoems

How do you explain the color of a sunset?
To those who cannot not see
Or the sound of the notes to the deaf
Of a classical symphony

How do you tell a child?
The there is no Santa Claus
Or that he cannot dance
He will never hear applause

Who are we to stop someone?
From reaching for the stars
Who are we to tell them?
They can only go so far

Let them dream their dreams
Let them strive for excellence
For they may just dream
A second and third chance

And as they are trying
They find they have achieved
More than they hoped for
And everything they believed

So please don’t put your limits
On what others choose to do
Encourage them to always try
And pray they also believe in you

Lives up to its title!
Very moving especially the closing.
Outstanding job!
We are truly limited only by the thought of what we can't do. We should always help those around us to acheive and thus help ourselves. Keep up the great writing!
Steve

As we sit in our robes at our desks we are moved to almost tears by the beauty and longing for innocence in this work of art. It is sweet and sincere with perfect wording. Yes, who are we to deprive our children of imagination and wonder. It is us, the adulted version of "once were kids" that have been deprived of these things by life. Why be jealous? Why be so set to crush the spirit with truth? For we can find our innocence again in their eyes. Eyes of innocence and wonder a place we all really wish we could be. We are impressed and will look for more of your work.

May demonic children with blonde hair, dark eyes, and pale skin wearing school uniforms come from out of your closet to reveal that they are aliens who want to eat the toe nails of adults. For it is their only food.

Shari,
I love you so much for this! I all ready knew you were beautiful. This is proof for the whole world to see. Your words have so much impact to make one think of those awful discouraging words before they are said. Those dream crushing thoughts. Perhaps people could learn to stop and think before they spoke. More dreams would continue on...
Thank you for your beautiful words
kara
