Topic: InspirationalPoems

Weathered paint like dead skin furls, what it has seen peers through a thurl
Like an old pair of slippers that we hold, despite just having to let them go
That cat on the porch that is always there, it stays despite not giving it fare
An old swing that the children often neglect, though it’s not caused by their disaffect
Old tire in the grass that gathers the rain, yet important enough to house the bane
The bottle of perfume that is never used, it only lingers for those to be rused
Snow shovel propped against the garage, quietly waiting for winter’s barrage
All are ordinary at their prime, now all extraordinary and sublime
Waiting for need and so they stay, wanting to be requisite every day
It’s what we all want and what we all need, the purpose, the love, the drive, the heed
The next you pass that needful thing, remember its purpose and the love it’ll bring

woooooooo! What a great way to remind us of the simple things, the unnoticed things. Yet I hope they are still there when we need them......AND what about if we don't ever need them?....hmmmm
thought provoking write!

very inventive! those tires and shovels will rot and rust if we continue to ignore them. then whether you want them, need them. it doesn't matter if we wait too long. nice lesson for those who take things for granted. thank you for sharing...it's truely beautiful.
