Alive Yet Dead

Grief

The darkness clutches tightly to my soul
The insanity building within my fragile mind
I’m so cold inside, my god so cold!
The filth falling within my skin
No feeling at all within my person
Yet the pain inside is too much
My eyes wide open, yet I can see nothing
My god, what have you done to me?
I can’t move, body’s numb, so numb
Can’t hear but the silence is deafening
Dig! Dig! Yet my body’s not moving
I can’t escape this prison of the night
My mind fleeing my body, I’m so lost
Holding myself within blackness, so insecure
Lungs are burning, clawing through my chest
Now there’s no pain, no fear, no life.

It sounds as if a person is buried alive... raw emotion is all the way through it... a struggle... it's a great write.
