time goes by as the hands of time creeps up on us,
never asking, do you want me to slow down,
or if it's time to stop,
time still goes whether we accept it or not,
we still wish time would stop for a second or two,
that we may say the things that we wanted to say to the ones that we love,
but we can't for time has no mercy on anyone,
time goes by whether we want it or not,
we have to accept it for what it's worth,
can't change things or what we want ,
except the thing that we know that we can change,
ourselves,,
we learn whether we want to or not,
we learn to live the best way we can,
to survive in life and what it throws at us,
for we are survivor of time,
learn from the past not from the present for we haven't seen it before,
time has no mercy for life,
no regrets, no remorse,
it just ticks away as we watch time take away the things in life,
that meant so much to us in time,
let time tick away,
let time have its revenge,
let it take away the things that we love,
it can't take my soul,
for it doesn't belong to him,
never has,,,never will,,

and summer flew by so fast this year, im not a particular fan of time, myself, this is one of your best craig, it really hits right in the heart, i love your mention of soul too, i agree,

spook, your last stanza really sealed this for me. Time can be
such an indifferent entity, no? But damn, it does not OWN us, (unless
we let it). Funny thing though .. time can also be a healer. I've found
that out on many occasions. Though it does incessantly remind me
of old wounds, it does so with less and less weight.
Wonderfully provocative words. Well done!
