As my pen reaches this paper’s whiteness
My body cracks, spills my essence
Slowly, in a symphony conducted by maggots
My mind short-circuits in madness
And honestly I wield this sharpness
And yield to my instincts and darkest wishes
Step by step, towards the land of gods
Leaving behind patches of darkness
Through memories of despair and sickness
I die
And with nicotine and numbness
An ending unfolds in this tale of sadness
Know that I will put on my meat carcass
And rise again from tears and ashes
For forever pain is my cradle
I’m the bearer of dreams lost and failed
And in suffering I’ve found my purpose

Quite a compelling and yes angry work of art. Reminiscent of classic dark poetry combined with the ideals of the "beat generation". The flow was well done and your word choices worked this well into a powerful conclusion. Yes, the last two lines were exceptional!
Bravo!

Holy heck!! This was flipping amazing!
I LOVE the darkness in this. The struggle is evident, but damn! The
conviction in holding on to suffering, for whatever reason , (be it to
feel alive, or just to cope, etc) is brilliant. This has been done before
but you have achieved it without the cliché and that is to be applauded.
Your word choices are impeccable, your flow is gripping and
contagious and the atmosphere of the piece is deliciously dark.
Bravo poet!! Exceptional write!

it's been hard for me to return to this site and read these works again, for they remind me of a difficult time yet to be overcome. but i have to say your comments are one of the reasons i still manage to survive as i am, as a depressed soul. for pain is just unbearable, without some sympathy from others. thank you... |
