English Rain

Contributed by Chapperson on Saturday, 6th September 2008 @ 03:54:09 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Rain, just looking at it
A watery substance falling from the sky
Beautiful is it not? Drenching the bland pavement
Its the sound of England, the sky a thunderous grey.

Looking at my life, Society seams to the rim of fools
Oh so merry, they are ignorant of the world around them
The rain falls down and they foresee a miserable drenching
The rain falls down and I see a traditional majestic beauty

A unpresidented beauty, a symbol of England
A symbol of culture, the sound is soothing
But only soothing to my ears, not the ears of fools
But what runs through the ears of fools?

Low quality poor made compositions, that is what runs through the ears of fools
They cannot understand life the way I do
They cannot cope with something so foreign to them
And that leaves me in the rain, soaking up its liquid goodness

WOW!

I agree.... Rain is a watery substance! How perceptive of you and quite un cliched highly descriptive way of explaining it. I think you with that line alone went from YPDC amateur poet like the rest of us to being so far beyond our abilities. You really dug deep for that one! It's a brilliant line. I think Poe and Keats are going to rise from the dead and call a press conference naming you POET OF ETERNITY!

I also love how as a poet (also known as a fool) you decide to call those whom are not poets fools and then precede in ripping them. Shake's Spear would be proud but Sir William is weeping that watery substance of liquid sadness.

Though this would be argued by some: traditional and majestic kind of cancel each other out. It's like calling something conservatively liberal or religiously spiritual or legally criminal! Sure, some would call England's Royalty "traditional and majestic" but not traditionally majestic.

Mostly I am so proud that you have decided to out yourself to the world. Proclaiming that nobody sees things the way you do. Of course if that means we over look descriptions of rain like "watery substance" and forget to use such brilliant terms as "liquid goodness" then I guess we should kneel at your feet......to tip you over!

Self Absorbed! Egomaniacal, Vain, Bland, and Pretentious!

Here's hoping the world where only your ears, your mind, your heart, and your eyes see beauty treats you well!
