Deep crimson stains that cannot be washed away
Long aching wounds
I was nothing but his prey
With his lies the world he astounds
He carved out my heart
Throwing it in the flames as he did laugh
He ripped me apart
No one came on my behalf
The flames engulfed me
He left my corpse to rot
This pain will not let me be
Sorrow in my soul was wrought
Now all that remains is dust
And I wander aimlessly
I am only a shadow, a ghost
Now hating what I had loved dearly
There will be no rest for my soul
For I cannot find my heart
I can never again be whole
For my sorrow will not depart

Deeply sad and emotionally charged piece. They tell us as kids that monsters do not exist. They do, just in a different form that is in the old stories.
