What A Waste!!

Contributed by Jenni_K on Saturday, 30th August 2008 @ 11:20:39 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

~~^~~

What a waste his life has been...
At such an early age he turned to sin.
In his hands, he once held the key
To be anything he wanted to be.

He had the brains and he had the ability
He was a fearless man out at sea.
On the sports arena he was superior,
And while at school others felt inferior.

For many years, he did lots of time
Paying for his life of crime.
Yet when he stayed away from the drugs,
One almost wanted to shower him with hugs.

To us, he is still a boy with a gentle soul,
Whenever his addiction, he is able to control.
What a dim future he now faced...
If only his life wasn’t such a waste!

~~xXx~~

Written about my brother...

It sounds that he has wasted his life, however he will always need love to form the foundation on which to stand...when he has gathered the strength to get up.

My prayers are with him.

Ah, he who shares my middle name. I'm
sorry for your pain, and I'm sure, your feeling
of helplessness. I can relate in different
ways, which is one of the great things of
poetry. Well written Jenni, and I would hold
on to that hope. He may get better.

How sad, Jenni. I can definitely relate. It brought to mind my brother, who passed away in 2003 from heart failure. He was an alcoholic with a bad heart. Obviously, a bad mixture. :-(

*huge hug*

Take care,

Tim

Jenni, what a sad and lonesome piece. I feel such a sense
of loss from your words. Such a damn shame ...

Amazingly emotive, as always hun.

*hugs*

It is so sad that drugs steal not just from the person who takes them, but from the family and friends of that person as well. It truly is a trajedy!
