I am the sand.
You can call me a beach,
your own private island.
You are the sun,
beating down on the sand.
And I am the sand.
In me you'll find treasure,
yes, in me there's gold.
And in me you'll find,
all the things I behold.
You are the gold.
And I am the sand.
And we are the same.
I am not the calm ocean breeze,
that carries my words.
I am the sand, so each gasping breath,
I suppose you never heard.
Yes, I am the sand.
Here I am falling,
in the hourglass that is your heart.
Let me slow things down a bit,
the gears get clogged with sand.
And I am the sand.
And when time is stopped,
I'll be frozen too.
I will be lost,
in a memory of you.
Because I am the sand.
Now you can crash on my soft hands.
Yes, you are the ocean.
And I am the sand.
