How Could This Be

Contributed by allforyou on Monday, 25th August 2008 @ 11:42:22 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I've always been one to lose all control,
but sometimes I don't feel like I've lost my hold.
How could this be when my mind,
it had a grasp that you don't even know.

I've always been one to listen to my heart,
but sometimes I don't hear the steady thumping in my chest.
How could this be when the sound,
it was so much clearer than the rest.

I've always been one to see the light,
but sometimes I don't see how things could've gone wrong.
How could this be when the switch,
it was flipped on all along.

I've always been one to have faith in people,
but sometimes I don't believe a word you told me.
How could this be when the clouds,
they would clear up when you would hold me.

Kara,

Another terrific piece, I'm always happy to see you've posted. I love the stops and pauses, they bring such drama and feeling in this poem. Crazy how someone can prove wrong everything you've ever known or believed. Beautifully done.
