All of the stories are told in the dust
Of friendships discarded, of loves that were lost
Chattels that were great, small, or strong
These tales-archaic, gather in throng
What I meant or what she was
What we were, our torrid cause
Few ever loved and wanted as we
Even fewer defied time’s awful decree
Within the littorals of epoch thus far
Seeking on tenterhooks, against the noir
I will find her love in the midst of the dust
Waiting to be gathered, before oblivion’s gust
