YPDC

Contributed by LadyDama on Tuesday, 18th March 2003 @ 05:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

a dedication is in order
for a place that's like no other
poets abound within it's realm
mick is right here at the helm
writing out our thoughts with fervor
this place, to many, is a reserve

searched the world
for spots untold
but none quite compares
where each poet shares
their innermost beauty
a gratifying duty

we collect here
no thoughts of fear
to write our stories
to spill our worries
where others dwell
around this wishing well
acceptance a must
in this orb of trust
without this place
of beauteous space
we would be lost
imagine the cost

from learned elders
to freelance dwellers
poets of passion
savvy with fashion
young ones with angst
graceful ones with taste

we are here
to write of our pains and joys and laughter and tears
we are here
to give you sadness and love and depression and fears
we are here
to nurture you and give advice and love you
we are here
to write our sickness out or just hug you

whatever the reason
you are on this site
all are here
with beautiful might
this wonderful place
our own little space...

this is our home
feel free to roam...

I ha ve been trying for weeks to write something about YPDC and wake up this morning to find you've done far better than I ever could.
So I've binned all my scribbles to congratulate you on your excellent poerm that says it all so beautifully.
As we used to say back in my RAF days in the forties..... "Jolly good show old boy, absolutely bang on!"

What a great tribute. With all the nice things that everyone says about this site, it's hard to imagine that they could all actually be true, but yet they are. Beautifully done. Butterat Zool.
