End of the Night

Contributed by joe89 on Saturday, 23rd August 2008 @ 02:43:49 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

when the day ends
and the air turns thin
theres a cold smell of soil
airing from the tarmac
you can taste peaches in the breeze
your eyelids beg to close
but your just not ready
to give up the day yet
the night sky stares at me
safe in the knowlege
that he will always be here tomorow
and what scares me the most
is i however
will not...

I love the concept in this poem.... I was actually sorry it wasn't longer as I thought much more could have been done with it....
(Just my humble opinion)

what a stark revelation to be found in a poem.

Good write.
