Undertow (Illusory Need)

Grief
|
Living in a fantasy world of night, surrounded by the sea of life,
But this need of loving sentiment makes me hollow.
And this illusion of being needed is rife,
Its making my throat so dry I can’t even swallow.
Why?
Simple.
All the water in my sea is for tears.
The river of grief became a sea of sorrow and fears.
And agonizingly slow,
I begin to drown,
This undertow of emotions is weighing me down.
Choking inevitably on my own woe,
Sinking deeper into the depths of my endless nightmare,
Unable to endure against my inner foe.
I reach towards the light above, it may be tomorrow,
But I find it just barely beyond my reach.
And silently, I watch it drift away...
Inch by dreadful inch, my sanity slips,
Spreading thinner day by day.

I reach towards the light above, it may be tomorrow,

And silently, I watch it drift away...
Inch by dreadful inch, my sanity slips,
Wow... those 4 lines brilliant I don't know what else to say... Excellent.
