Hell's Desert

Contributed by ravenblack_phoenix on Tuesday, 18th March 2003 @ 03:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Quietly I stumble,
Tortured through the depths of hell’s desert,
This pain makes me humble,
And it begins to fester...
Why dost thou tease me so?
Why dost thou make me suffer so...
Cast out upon this barren wasteland,
I cannot live, thou hast broken my soul...
Now let me be.
Leave me to hell’s sea,
Scorched by the sandy waters rising all around me...
I’ve had far to much of this wasteland for my liking,
So I shall end it, drown...
Down to the depths,
Cast down by those who have not wept, will not...
For all the tears I’ve been given, I am drowning within.
A sea of harsh, sandy tears,
Scrape my skin, now my blood is thy blood...
Thy blood and thy sand, cast me into my undoing,

Trapped eternally within hell’s desert...

A brilliant masterpiece I loved this. The imagery was excellent and vivid. I think this is the first of your poems I've read. I hope to read more you have a way with words. Once again an amazing poem.
