Who Am I?

Contributed by allforyou on Sunday, 17th August 2008 @ 04:27:47 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Who am I?
I am letters,
I am words.
I am an idea in your head that you easily dismiss.
I am a girl next to a bullet on a list.
I am the feeling you get when everything stands still.
I am the pistol in the holster still waiting to kill.

I have my bags,
I have my music,
I have my heart.
Why should I need more?
Why should I conform?
Why should I live life like an act I perform?

Who am I?
I am poison,
I am worms.
I am the pound on the door that isn't answered.
I am the smoke in your lungs; I am the cancer.
I am the earthquake that makes your knees taper.
I am what blocks the ink flow to your paper.

I have my pen,
I have my notebook,
I have my pride.
Why should I feel pain?
Why should I complain?
Why should I tighten the loose screws in your brain?

Who am I?
I am me,
I am real.
I am an apple bruised under the tree.
I am the hostage that's just been freed.
I am the ice in the heart of the killer.
I am the twist in your favorite horror thriller.

Wow, this is awesome. The metaphors are brilliant and your strength abounds. I can only imagine what you've suffered through to make you the person you are. Terrific write.

And thank you for your comments as well ;o).

perfect write...you are you ... what more do you (or does anyone) need to be??

(a pen and a notebook go a long way to help you find exactly who you are...)

nicely done,

wiz

It seems like you have been through
quite a bit. I'm so sorry you have
endured such hardship. There may be clouds,
but they have silver linings too. Chin up and may
you have much brighter days ahead.
I'm with Wiz on this one, a notebook and pen
go a long way~ Take care and all the best.
hugs,
sue m
