Envy for the Mortal

Contributed by gravehorn on Saturday, 16th August 2008 @ 11:59:04 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

When blood was sent to boil from the fires of my curse
All heartache fled my suffered soul and burned with every verse.
Our tongues had spat a thousand words, our minds had churned a storm,
And yet before the dawn had come, our bodies kept their form.

A world I’d seen before my time gave rise to understand
The true, important meaning of each falling grain of sand.
When days have passed and years have fled; when time yields no return
The ages of the morrow leave the past to fall and burn

I’ve seen a thousand cycles pass; I’ve loved a hundred more.
Emotions writhe within my heart and bleed upon the floor.
The gateway to eternal life is shrouded in a mist;
Though in the end, the hardest part, is simply to exist.

No knowledge learned can save your soul, no garden for your mind.
The world, as bright as it once was, now leaves the weary blind.
When mortals dance their final waltz and cling to every breath
The only thing that we may do is pass the kiss of death.

To writhe within the moonlight while the sun will burn our eyes,
The only consequence we face is in our own demise.
When vigor wastes its final strain and living hardly speaks,
The only answer that remains is left there for the weak.

To opt beyond the mortal realm and woo the chilling end;
The unknown satisfaction that the mind can’t comprehend.
Perhaps the stalkers that we are, who think we understand
Are after all the weakened ones that fear a foreign land.

Dear Master Gravehorn,
your work is always sensational,
mind blowing and so captivating. I never tire reading
what you pen for us dear poet.
In all I totally love your write, but these lines speak out loud to me~

No knowledge learned can save your soul, no garden for your mind.
The world, as bright as it once was, now leaves the weary blind.
When mortals dance their final waltz and cling to every breath
The only thing that we may do is pass the kiss of death.

Truly amazing as is the poet that penned it. Well done and keep up the tremendous work.

A fan~
