The Mie Scattering

Contributed by iodinelove on Friday, 15th August 2008 @ 11:00:13 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

I am hooded, trick slivered unruly locks of flesh, drooping eyes, I am the sudden tears and stirring voice, and I am the dredged heart, the sulky smile, the stinging diaphragm drowned out across eons. I am the stilted trace of love etched into an old stone chapel, and I am the deathly sober scream of a vacant star scratched out at the edge of laughter.

I have searched the sun for strength, the moon for love and glory, only to find a hollow night, a standing day, the ebb of an eternal sky, searching for forgiveness.

There is music that surrounds me, songs of love demand me, pearls of sound descry me, and I find myself alone, betrayed by an inorganic harmony.

The words have become far too weak for me, and I writhe in discontent, the shadow of a man surfacing at the edge of dark interiors.

I sip from the page and taste the tinge of love and coffee, fold my eyes and play the keys like the silver rings of an ancient ship sailing eastward toward the sun, the gulls cry out, the winds forgive and catch their wings, and the sun continues to rise.
