Wreck Upon the Highway
Oil flowed in fluid strands
To greet the lonely highway
From the broken crankcase
His hair beneath the drizzle
Water trumpet moan.
The knight of darkness ensuing
The knight excommunicated
Riding through the storm alone
To greet the princess wife
Waiting at the bailey window
Alone, all alone.
The princess wife waiting
Hands wrapped in rosary
Her cherished knight out in the darkness
Eyes glazed upon a scarlet flow
Upon the lonely highway
Along, all alone.
