The Ladybird.

Contributed by FRANCO on Thursday, 14th August 2008 @ 11:01:19 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The Ladybird.
Golden shades of twilight
bejeweled the pale and feeble
sandy beach into its color of
fortune, dreamily dancing
ocean weaves into liquid gold.

Me a loner so they say;
sat to watch the weary birds
fly pass to their nests
far away beyond
the ocean blue, where my
sweet love blossomed, I kept
in the closet of my heart,
for the world to know.

Me a loner so they say,
perhaps too bashful
of me to say,
“I ‘m in love;”
beyond the far mighty
blue ocean – yonder
my ladybird nest,
very reflection of
reaching her put my
cozy dreams to test.

Me a loner so they say,
relished in trivial joy,
thanking the waves
that touched her feet
at the shore afar for
- stroking mine; cool
breezy for kissing
her tender cheek
and embracing my
wet yearning lips.

The Sun rose and
dipped a countless time,
painting the pale beach
a thousand times,
me now a weary ol’ man,
sat with stretched out hands
to reach out to my ladybird,
who rested at the west coast,
waited longingly in sprite -
to be grasped.

Me, laid to rest, with an
epitome on my tombstone;
“here lay this man loner,
as we hardly know; buried
no more as a loner - but
with his love called “ladybird.”

None is a loner, for they dwell with
their aspirations, veiled deep within.
-FRANCO-

Franco the imagery and the sentiment you convey in this write are the most potent, beautiful and uplifting I have read in a while.

Those last lines really touched me.

Take care,
Dom

Franco, such a delicate and soft beauty woven with your pen. There is
much to enjoy and relish inside this. I sense a longing and an ache that
grows with every sunrise. But I don't feel it is a burden, but more of
a familiarity that washes over with a comfort like none other.

Captivating and completely engaging, my old friend.
Glad to "see" you again. =)

wishes,

~ Breezy
