Poetry road is paved with rhyme
and it has many bumps
A word limit is posted that you must not exceed
Or you will get a critic to talk about your deed
And if you write inebriate and happen to be stopped
You'll show your literary license and tell the cop your plot
Or you'll be off to jail and there you'll face the judge
And he will hear your verse and fine you if it's not
And get yourself insured in case you accident
And hit another poet while writing malcontent
The writing club is ready to help you when you call
To bring an extra word or two and help you to enthrall
Poetry road is paved with rhyme
And slippery when wet
Oh drive over the water puddle
And get those poets wet
Those pencil packing poets
Write better when they're sad
