This One Violin

Contributed by muinanyere on Monday, 4th August 2008 @ 02:45:32 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

In the shadows of deepest night
I long for my dreams to be real
But only this nightmare of life
Can ever be a reality

The sorrow holds sway over my heart
As I wait for the moon
Longing to remain where I cannot be seen
I escape to another world

My only comfort is here
Where the notes flow through me
My only joy is found
In this one violin

I soar far above the ground
To touch the stars
I don’t want to ever come down
I dance upon the clouds

A smile comes across my face
It’s been a long time
But I found some joy today
In my own little place

I just wish I could stay here
Forever
Where I’ll never be hurt again
Ever

*** "the violin" is any song by Jean-Luc Ponty (he plays an electric violin) and he's my favorite musician***

I can truly see the moment. I completly understand the feel yourself soaring within the musing of a song when all else around us seems dark and with out heart. The power with which it can both cast us up into a smile yet fill us with a sorrow nowing it shall not last and the notes shall wane and leave us in our din.

well written
