It started with a light rain and a dark sky,
It became a poison to my ears,
I couldn’t sleep,
The sound and sight of war was all around me,
The flashes of light as if they were bombs exploding,
And the shocking boom as if it were a million guns going off at once,
Soon after every boom there was a pause,
But it was never silent,
The wind was howling and I could hear people’s cry,
The frozen water hitting my window as if it were people begging for shelter,
It frightened me,
I felt as if my window would break at any given moment,
Once this pounding of my window would stop it started over,
The flash got brighter,
The boom so loud you could feel it shake you,
The war was getting closer,
And then the light rain was back,
Was the war gone?
Was everything back to what it was before this horrible experience?
I’m afraid not,
As I peak out my window there are trees and bushes scattered across the road,
Those reminded me of people,
The war had been successful and nature had seemed to loose,
But this war,
Who was it between?
Nature and who?
