A Night In Memory

Contributed by FreeWriter on Monday, 4th August 2008 @ 03:05:31 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

The moonlight found it's way through the rain, glistening on the pavement
We walked side by side, hands linked into enternal love
The touch spread warmth throughout, in the cold bitterness of this night
A shimmer of gold through the rain, our bands touch, keeping our love alive
For nothing can destroy it, not even the dark shadows can break us apart
Like lightning clashing with thunder, together chasing away our fears
We stood for a moment watching the water drops fall, sparkling like the hiding stars
Our hands held tighter, living this moment forever
Our palms touched, like we saw through a mirror
A tear sliding down our cheek
Almost masked in the rain, we both reach up to catch it caressing it's beauty
As we sway, the wind and rain danced around us, our love growing stronger
Holding each other close, a love from two worlds, knowing no bound
We kiss for the last time, but it shall last forever
Like the memory of our first kiss, a sensation from our lips
As our faces part, and our eyes meet once more, we whisper 'I love you'
With these words said the rain pounded down harder, forcing us to disappear
The sky roared louder, like a cry felt deep in our hearts
The lightning flashed, reflecting off our bands, the shimmer of gold breaking through the rain
Their glow shone like the moonlight, spreading warmth throughout
Our fingers still entwined, we welcomed the feelings that came from between them, security and warmth, the feelings of love
Our memories alive, we walked side by side, in this strange night
And although the other may be no more, we will always have the memories and feelings of the night we said goodbye
